FAQ
General
Unity provides administrative support and regulatory expertise for DOT drug & alcohol testing programs: the operational work behind compliance, not just testing coordination.
Do you replace our current lab or testing provider?
Unity can support administration around your existing lab and testing providers. We first review account access, reporting, and workflows with your team to confirm compatibility and agree on who handles each task.
For TPAs
No: communications, reporting, and client-facing touchpoints stay under your brand. Unity operates behind the scenes.
Yes: the infrastructure is built to handle growth in client volume without a proportional increase in your internal admin load.
For Employers
A change is not automatically required. Unity reviews your current lab arrangements, procedures, and systems during onboarding. Any integration or workflow changes depend on compatibility, available access, and the support you choose.
Integration may connect testing applications with HRIS, CRM, EMR, or internal reporting systems. Availability depends on each system’s API, permissions, and data requirements. Unity confirms the connection, data flow, and responsibilities before implementation.
Compliance & Regulations
Unity provides direct audit response support, from documentation review through corrective action, if you're a client at the time.
For drivers subject to FMCSA’s Clearinghouse rules, employers need a full pre-employment query and a query at least annually during employment. An annual query may be limited with the required consent. A limited query that finds a record requires a full query within 24 hours. Visit our Clearinghouse page for consent and employer responsibilities.
